Family and Children's Center hosting Candy Run motorcycle ride to raise funds
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Family and Children's Center is hosting a Candy Run motorcycle ride on Saturday July 25.
The ride will be 70 miles with stops at candy stores along the way.
The center teamed up with the South Bend Chocolate Factory, Wakarusa Dime store and Veni's Sweet Shop in Niles for the event.
The ride begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Family & Children’s Center, 300 S. Saint Louis Blvd, South Bend.
The ride begins with staggered start times between 9 and 11 a.m.
The cost is $15 for the first rider and $10 for an additional rider for pre-registration.
On Saturday, it will cost $20 for the first rider and $10 for an additional rider.
Funds raised at the event will go towards ensuring safer sleep habits by providing free Baby Boxes for infants. Baby Boxes provide parents a safe alternative where baby can sleep, nap or rest when parents are busy or sleeping.
The center received a $15,000 Special Project Challenge Grant from the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County for this initiative. The center has one year to match funds for this grant. For every $1 raised, the foundation will match $1.
All proceeds from the ride will benefit the initiative.
