Cheers Pub updates security protocol following fatal shooting

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Cheers Pub has updated their security protocol following a fatal shooting in December 2021.

All IDs will be scanned, all patrons will be patted down and pass through a metal detector when entering, and the pub is implementing a no “in or out privileges” rule. From 9 p.m. to close each night, patrons will not be allowed to re-enter the pub without management approval. Once customers are in the building, they must stay there until they leave.

Smoking will also be limited to the rear deck only and no drugs will be allowed on Cheers property.
