
CHICAGO -- Four people are dead and 14 peopled were injured in a mass shooting near a restaurant in River North Wednesday night, according to reports from ABC affiliate WLS in Chicago.
Chicago police said it happened around 11:02 p.m. in the 300 block of West Chicago Avenue.
Police told WLS a dark-colored vehicle drove past and fired shots into a crowd of people before fleeing the scene.
WLS reports a rapper named Mello Buckzz was hosting a mixtape release party inside that restaurant and lounge at the time. She released a statement on Instagram asking for people to pray for the victims.
A 24-year-old man and 25-year-old man were taken to Stroger Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.
Two women were also taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
WLS reported three other victims were taken to hospitals in critical condition and another in serious condition.
People in the area reported hearing several gunshots at the time.
Police are continuing to investigate.
