Chicago to receive money from botched O'hare construction plan

CHICAGO — The city of Chicago is getting some extra money in a settlement out of a big project at the O'Hare airport.

Contractors botched a terminal project that was supposed to enlarge the terminals and add a glass canopy to cover passengers in the drop-off zone at the airport.

That contractor, Walsh Construction, agreed to pay the city $21 million because of the defective design.

Passengers were never in any danger during the construction.
