The Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, a recipe over five years in the making, is arriving at Chick-fil-A locations on Monday, August 28.

This limited release menu item takes a spicy spin on the original with a spread of pimento cheese on top a Chick-fil-A breaded chicken breast with a honey drizzle and jalapeno pickles. 

Chick-fil-A's principle culinary lead Stuart Tracy said the sandwich creation comes after coming up with of 30 different flavor options. 
This sandwich was first introduced to eaters in Asheville, NC and upstate South Carolina. 

This item may not stay limited. After supply runs out, Chick-fil-A will assess customer responses and decide if it's here to stay.
