Child pronounced dead in Elkhart County after drowning

ELKHART, Ind. – A 23-month-old child was pronounced dead after officials say they were dispatched to a home on Snyder Street in Elkhart County for a report of a drowning.
The incident happened around 9:31 p.m. Friday evening in the 25000 block of Snyder Street.
The child was transported to Elkhart General Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The incident is being investigated by the Elkhart County Homicide Unit.
