Child taken to hospital for gun shot wound

South Bend Police responded to the scene of a child with a self-inflicted gun shot wound early Saturday morning.
It happened at about 12:30 a.m. at a home off of East Edison Road in South Bend.
Police said a two year old child somehow got a hold of a gun inside the home.
The child was taken to the hospital; however, it is not known at this time the extent of the injuries.
