Church fundraiser benefits from hungry out of town Irish fans

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Smells of Port-a-Pit chicken filled the streets of Mishawaka Saturday morning.

Evangel Heights United Methodist Church had a Port-a-Pit chicken sale for people with disabilities.

The church ministry holds this sale every year during one Notre Dame home weekend.

It's a good business plan because the church says they get more profit from out of town folks who are on their way to the game.

"We have it usually  on a Notre Dame weekend to have a larger amount of traffic and we just thought it would be a great day with it being Purdue and Notre Dame," said Becky Baker.

If you would like to join to church ministry, they meet every third Sunday of the month through November.
