Church in Goshen votes in favor of same-sex marriage ceremonies

A Church in Goshen is participating in the idea of same-sex marriages after the congregation voted in favor of its Pastors performing the ceremonies.

All members at Goshen City Church of the Brethren were welcome to participate in Sunday’s vote.

The church says this is a way to move forward releasing a statement saying, “The process we’ve gone through was an intentional way for us as people of faith to look at how we can and should move toward a more loving way of being in community with each other.”

Earlier this week, we spoke to neighbors of this congregation and they were welcoming to the idea.

“As a small businessman, you want everyone to feel comfortable in your store,” said the owner of Ignition Music Garage, Steven Martin.

There are no updates yet on when the first ceremony will be conducted.
