Church members "Alive and Thriving" while enjoying some football

GRANGER, Ind. -- Hundreds of football fans came to Granger Community Church for a different kind of viewing party.

People piled in to watch Notre Dame beat Purdue on the big screens.

The church is doing a five week series on the kind of coaching and training it takes to keep a soul "Alive and Thriving" as the they say it.

And, they figured what better way to get in the team spirit than to enjoy some family tailgating at the church.

"It seems like normally when you are in a ball game situation, you kind of have like a party atmosphere with things that i don't really like to associate with, so i would rather come here," said Sam Wawrzynski, Church party-goer.

Families were decked out in their Notre Dame gear and the kids even got to play a little cornhole at the church tailgate.
