City celebrates the legacy of Adeline Wigfall-Jones

SOUTH BEND, Ind.- The city of South Bend is honoring local barber shop owner, Adeline Wigfall-Jones with an honorary street sign on the corner of Washington and Elm.

The sign serves as a celebration, commemorating Miss Adeline’s legacy as a community institution in South Bend for nearly 50 years.

Councilmember Henry Davis Junior emphasized the importance of making the recognition during Miss Adeline’s lifetime, adding that she should be here to accept her flowers as a sign of gratitude from the South Bend community.

The Wigfall Barber Shop is open Monday through Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Saturdays 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and closed on Sundays.
