SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A South Bend staple is closing its doors on Thursday night.
The City Limits Lounge on Ironwood has served drinks and memories to customers for forty years.
The bar officially shut down on Thursday after its last call.
Management cites the growing trend of specialized and craft beers as one of the reasons the bar could not stay afloat.
“This bar has been here for over 40 years, one owner. Economic times, craft beers, the younger crowd does not appreciate a bar like this. Neighborhood bars I think are going to be a thing of the past,” said manager Sharon Grimm.
Grimm said her customers are like family to her and she will miss them the most after the doors close for the last time.
