BUCHANAN, Mich. - The City of Buchanan recently purchased a four-acre plot for redevelopment near the city's main entrance.

The land, formerly home to Baroda Tire, sits just past the railroad tracks off of U.S. 12 at 708 South Redbud Trail.

This land is on a strategic corridor that acts as the main gateway for travelers coming from the Chicago area, the city said.

As part of redevelopment, the older structure and the Old Feed Mill will be torn down.

Plans for what will replace the buildings have not yet been announced.

“The Buchanan City Commission is looking forward to a new chapter of revitalization and it is now making strategic and bold moves towards that implementation," said Community Development Director Richard Murphy. "It takes time, but we are making progress on these redevelopment assets that we feel will be attractive to the market, create jobs, and build up the tax base in Buchanan.”
