City of South Bend announces traffic restrictions beginning Thursday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The City of South Bend Department of Public Works announced lane restrictions on two bridges in the city beginning later this week.

On Thursday, March 4, lane restrictions will be in place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Jefferson Bridge, from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Niles Avenue.

On Friday, March 5, lane restrictions will be in place from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Colfax Avenue Bridge, from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Sycamore Street.

The streets listed will stay open to traffic but will be restricted in the construction zone.

Lane restrictions are in place as crews work to install anchored signage warning anyone recreating in the St. Joseph River of the dam in the river.
