City reschedules public meeting on South Bend intake center

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A new public meeting to discuss South Bend’s potential homeless intake center will now take place on February 6.

The February 1 meeting was cancelled Thursday night because so many people attended, it became a fire hazard.

Before the meeting was cancelled, however, city leaders shared the reasons why they chose the grassy plot off of Bendix Drive for the center.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at LaSalle Academy. Anyone attending should enter through Door 2.

Auxiliary Aid and other services will be provided for those who need it. You’re asked to call 574-235-5799 or email [email protected] well in advance to reserve free assistance.
