MISHAWAKA, Ind. – The Mishawaka Clinic offered flu shots on Tuesday to children 18-years-old or younger and free lead testing for children from ages 1 to 6.
One of the reasons for temporarily opening the Mishawaka Clinic is to allow more access for patients, as parking can be an issue at the main downtown location in South Bend.
This location has benefited patients in the past.
“We’ve already seen cases of the flu this year,” Abigail Maxwell said, a registered nurse. “We’ve had flu deaths already. And a lot of people don’t realize that February is actually usually the worst month for the flu so it’s not too late to get your flu shot. It’s really important to come in a get them.”
Although the Clinic in Mishawaka will not open until January, it provided a feel for what people can expect.
Patients can also visit the South Bend Clinic to receive their flu vaccinations.
