Closing arguments expected in Zimmerman trial

SANFORD, Fla. — Closing arguments are expected Thursday in the George Zimmerman trial.

On Wednesday, the defense rested its case. Zimmerman declined to testify.

The 29-year-old Zimmerman is accused of killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in February 2012.

Among those who testified in the trial was Bill Ray Lee. He is the former police chief originally involved in the matter. Lee lost his job during the fallout.

In a recent interview, he said he was persuaded to move rapidly with an arrest.

"I had one of the city commissioners come to me on two different occasions and say, all we want is an arrest," said Lee. "And I explained to him, you can't just do that."

The jury is expected to begin deliberations Friday afternoon.
