Purdue will be playing North Texas Friday night in the NCAA tournament at Lucas Oil Stadium. One of the players on the team is Notre Dame women’s basketball Head Coach Niele Ivey’s son.
Freshman Jaden Ivey is averaging just more than 10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists this season.
Jaden and Coach Ivey have been showing their support for each other on social media all season.
Coach Ivey’s team is not playing in the women’s NCAA tournament this year, but there is a silver lining.
“If we were playing at Notre Dame, I probably, I wouldn’t have been able to go. So, definitely try to look at the positive in every situation. So, I’m very excited about that,” Coach Ivey said. “To be able to support him and be in the stands for his first NCAA tournament game is going to be huge for Jaden and just huge for just me as a mother, just being there and just to watch him live out one of his dreams to play in the NCAA tournament, I’m really excited and I’m happy it’s just down the road.”
