Cocaine, marijuana, and firearm found during Marshall County traffic stop Saturday

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ind. -- A traffic stop in Marshall County Saturday evening resulted in the arrest of 32-year-old Harvey Burkett Jr. on multiple charges, including Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated and Endangering a Person. 

A Marshall County Sheriff's Department K9 Deputy initiated a traffic stop around 7 p.m. in the area of US 31 and 9A Road. 

"During the traffic stop, suspected cocaine, marijuana, and a firearm were located in the vehicle," the MCSD said.

"[Burkett] was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol and controlled substances. [He] was transported to the Plymouth Hospital for a certified chemical test. [Burkett] was found to be over the legal limit of alcohol."

Burkett was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked for Felony Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug, Misdemeanor Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated, Endangering a Person, Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Paraphernalia.

He is being held on a $1,505 bond.
