Cocot recieves 65-year sentence

SOUTH BEND, Ind.--A South Bend man who admitted to killing his wife will likely spend the rest of his life behind bars.

Today a judge sentenced 38-year-old Brian Cocot to 65 years in prison with 10 suspended. Cocot admitted to beating his wife, Marsha with a hammer in their Southland Avenue home in June. Cocot then strangled her to death and disconnected the gas line to the stove.

Police discovered the grisly scene after Cocot attempted suicide in Elkhart.
