Cold stretch on the way: Frigid Valentine's Day Weekend

SOUTH BEND, IN - Cupid might be in the air, but I'm hoping he brought his winter jacket because Mother Nature is bringing the frigid cold back to Michiana just in time for Valentine's Day Weekend.  When we say frigid, we're talking almost as cold as the arctic blast we saw last month from January 5th through January 10th.

According to Fig. 1, the average of the 6-day high and low temperatures for the January cold blast was 8.1°.  In comparison to the forecast for the next 6-days which is outlined in Fig. 2, this arctic blast looks to have an average temperature of 12.9°.  Even though this arctic plunge will be just slightly warmer than January's cold blast, we could see the coldest day of 2015 this Sunday if a couple different weather variables fall into place.  Be sure to check back with ABC57's First Warning Neighborhood Weather page daily for updates on your forecast.
