Cold weather blamed for sinkhole

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- The cold weather may be to blame for a large sink-hole in Grand Rapids.

Officials say a water main break which created quite a mess. Eight homes flooded and nearly 85 homes lost water. It also destroyed the end of one driveway.

"The street collapsed, and this section over here collapsed," said David May who's Driveway destroyed by sinkhole.

"I opened up the garage door and it was just like a river, going down our street," said Deborah Byar, Neighbor.

City crews have been working to fix the water and gas lines since Wenesday but say it could take a few days before everyone is back online.
