College enrollment for Hispanics on the rise

College enrollment by young Hispanics in the U.S. surpassed young blacks last year according to a new study released by the Pew Research Center.

The number of Hispanics in college grew to an all-time high of 12 million students in 2010, up 24 percent over the previous year.

In that same time period college enrollment for blacks and Asians also increased, but not as dramatically as Hispanics, white enrollment decreased.

Researchers say there are more Hispanics in the U.S. now and more of them are graduating high school.
