Community Foundation of Elkhart County awards $390,000 to Bethany Christian Schools

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Bethany Christian Schools was awarded a Placemaking Grant of $390,000 by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County.

The award will help Bethany Christian Schools extend Winona Trails, a bicycle and pedestrian path in Goshen.

“We believe that Bethany Christian Schools is another excellent example of our mission to improve the quality of life in Elkhart County by inspiring generosity,” Pete McCown, president of the Community Foundation said.

The extension will continue the path south through the Bethany Christian School property and over to Winchester Trails, Prairie View Elementary School, Waterford Crossing and area neighborhoods.

The City of Goshen partnered with Bethany to make this goal a reality.

“This trail connection will help unite the communities on the west and east sides of the railroad tracks,” Mayor Jeremy Stutsman said in regards to project.
