Community invited to public meeting about Anderson Road highway garage

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. - Residents are encouraged to attend a public meeting on Thursday to discuss a proposal to build a highway satellite garage at the intersection of Beech and Anderson roads.

The meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Granger Missionary Church, located at 50641 Birch Road.

Community members can also attend the meeting using Zoom.

During the meeting, county leaders will give a presentation about the project and address public concerns.

Leaders are currently compiling answers to questions that were submitted to them over email. Those questions were due by April 15.

Answers will be available to the public before the scheduled meeting.

County leaders will also take questions at the meeting as time allows.

The satellite garage facility will house a salt barn, above ground fuel tanks for both diesel and unleaded gas, fuel pumps and a building for storing highway trucks and equipment during the winter.

Fuel pumps will be in service year-round for county-owned vehicles.
