Community plant exchange event in New Paris

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Parks will be hosting a free Spring Plant Exchange event in New Paris on May 7 that invites community members to trade plants and seedlings with each other.

This event will give an opportunity to gardeners to bring in their healthy perennials, shrubs, seeds and bulbs that can be swapped with anyone in attendance.

There is not a set limit on how many plants and seedlings gardeners can bring. However, event organizers do ask each participant to label their plants before attending.

Plants that are being brought to the exchange should be healthy and rooted in soil in a container.

The Spring Plant Exchange will be hosted at DeFries Gardens at River Preserve County Park in New Paris, 17477 County Road 46, and will begin at 1 p.m.
