NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- Surrounding communities are coming together to wrap their arms around the New Carlisle Cougars following a devastating crash involving the junior varsity baseball team.
The varsity Cougars took the field at home Monday night and are scheduled to take the field at Four Winds Field in South Bend on Wednesday, where 50/50 raffle tickets will be sold to support the medical expenses of families that were involved.
The surge in support comes after last week’s crash involving two mini-buses carrying JV baseball players and coaches, and has gone far beyond the baseball diamond.
Local students spent Monday in blue and gold, making cards and banners.
While local little league teams, including Bremen Youth Baseball showed their support over the weekend.
As the community rallies behind the team, both emotional and financial support have poured in for the victims and their families, including Lucas Bradshaw who was left with life threatening injuries from the crash.
Updates on his condition have been posted here and nearly 60,000 dollars have been raised through this go fund me.
