Community remembers Bethel College professor who drowned in Cass County

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- Friday night, the Mishawaka community is remembering a Bethel College professor who drowned in Cass County.
Dr. Eugene Carpenter died on Monday at Kirk Lake.
Police believe he tried swimming to his boat and it got away from him.
Carpenter's visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bethel College Chapel.
His funeral is on Saturday at 11 a.m., and will also be held in the chapel.
Carpenter taught Theology at Bethel for 26 years.
