Community shows colorful style during Buchanan Pride
BUCHANAN, Mich. -- A celebration of pride in Buchanan, where dozens of people showed their colorful style this afternoon.
The celebration included DJ performances, samba dancing lessons, and plenty of local vendors selling everything from fresh food to hand crafted merchandise.
The event today, providing the chance to uplift others as Pride Month nears its end.
"It's, I think, just a very uplifting feeling, because you know this right now, there's a lot of attacks from the top of our nation, at the LGBTQ plus community, particularly our trans brothers and sisters, and that's just not acceptable. Everyone has a right to thrive and live in this country and not be discriminated against," stated The Executive Director of the Buchanan Area Senior Center and Co-Chair of the Pride Committee Adam Burck.
Burck also tells ABC57 that despite the construction in the area, there was still a good turnout today, and that Buchanan Pride continues to grow each year.
