Complaint filed against city of South Bend

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — A South Bend Common Council member has filed a formal complaint because she is not getting the information she needs from the city.

District 3 Councilwoman Valerie Schey filed the formal complaint after she says she waited three weeks to hear back from the mayor on information requests.

But those requests were never returned.

Schey says she has been patient, but enough is enough.

"It's very difficult and I am very frustrated because I will not vote on things if I don't have the adequate information to understand the issue," said Schey.

The public access counselor is expected to file an opinion on the situation in late June.
