Concord Community Schools Superintendent Tim Tahara to retire

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.--Concord Community Schools Superintendent Tim Tahara is set to retire.

The school board unanimously approved the retirement request at a board meeting on Monday night.

Tahara's retirement will be effective on June 30, 2020. He cited spending time with family and "reflection about the best interests of the students and staff" as his reasons for retiring.

Assistant Superintendent Scott Kovatch will serve as acting superintendent until an interim superintendent is named.

Tahara began his career as a fifth grade teacher at Concord Ox Bow Elementary in 1982. Before becoming superintendent, he served as the assistant superintendent from 2010-2018.
