Conseco name officially dropped from Indianapolis Pacers and Fever arena

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The Conseco Fieldhouse has a new name.

The CNO Financial Group renamed the 13-year-old building Thursday morning.The downtown arena is home to the Indianapolis Pacers and Fever.

The new name is Banker's Life Fieldhouse, after one of the company's major product lines.

"With bankers being our most significant brand, with over 1.3 million policy holders, national presence, that made the choice rather straight forward we think,” said Edward Bonach.

CNO Financial began phasing out the Conseco name in 2002 when it went into bankruptcy reorganization.

The signs for the new arena will be up by early next year.
