Controlled burn gets out of hand, destroys classic car

ST JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. --A classic car was destroyed after a controlled burn got way out of hand this afternoon in St. Joseph County.

Crews were called to a home over on Riley Road just before 3:30 p.m.

The owner told firefighters he was burning brush behind his shed when a small ember flew inside and set the building on fire.

But no one was hurt.

The Porsche is considered a loss, there is too much smoke damage for it to even be restored the owner said.

Crews were able to put the fire out in twenty minutes.
