ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- A man police say is classified as a non-compliant sexually violent predator is now booked into jail.

On Friday, the St. Joseph County Police Warrants Team, with the help of the FBI and Mishawaka Police Department, located 42-year-old Ambrose Lofton in the 2900 block of Cassopolis Street in Elkhart.

Police say Lofton was wanted for violating his probation on three Child Molesting charges of varying degrees.

Court records show Lofton previously pleaded guilty in a St. Joseph County court to one count of Child Molesting in January 2020. 

His other Child Molesting charges were dropped.
