Convicted felon arrested for possessing two firearms

LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind.- Indiana State Police arrested a convicted felon Friday around 11 a.m. following a traffic stop on I-94 near the westbound exit for US 20, according to officials.

Minnesota-resident Darrell N. Moore, 37, was in possession of two firearms, despite having been convicted of violent felony crimes in different states.

ISP reported Moore was also in possession of 50 grams of marijuana.

According to police, Moore is currently being held at the LaPorte County Jail under the following charges:

  • Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon
  • Carrying a Handgun Without a Permit by a Convicted Felon
  • Possession of Marijuana

No other information has been released at this time.
