Convicted killer fakes death to avoid more prison time

PRESTONVILLE, Ind. -- A convicted killer in southern Indiana who police said faked his own death has been caught following a multi-state manhunt.

Police said the convicted killer faked his suicide to avoid the consequences of his probation violations.

The arrest happened just miles from the bridge where police said he left a fake suicide note and clothes on a railing last month.

Police said the 40-year-old was trying to avoid going back to prison on probation violations.
