Corrections officer killed in Lake County hit-and-run; suspect in custody

CROWN POINT, Ind. -- Lake County Indiana investigators say they have one person in custody in connection to a hit-and-run accident that killed one of their own.
The driver hit four corrections officers in Crown Point killing one. The person of interest turned himself in Wednesday night.
Britney Meux, a 25-year-old mother, Marine, and correctional officer was killed in the accident. Three others were injured, one of them is in critical condition.
The others are recovering and they're expected to be alright.
