NILES, Mich. -- Cottin Gin BBQ Supply Co. is set to open their doors to the public for the first time on Saturday with a special celebration from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The festivities will include a free feast of whole roast hog, Texas style brisket, ribs and a bounce-house for the kids.
For those interested, there will be cooking demonstrations alongside tours of the new supply store, which features rubs, cookbooks, smokers and more.
What started as a basement-based hobby for owner Matt Messer has grown over the past five years into a business with three separate sides to it. Beyond the new store, Cottin Gin BBQ also manufactures smokers and provides catering services for regional events.
Attached to the storefront is a full-service manufacturing area where the Cottin Gin Smokers team build their client's smokers custom in-house.
