County parks want public input on five-year plan

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind.- St. Joseph County (SJC) wants the public's opinion on the county parks' five-year master plan.

An opportunity to provide suggestions about park improvements will take place on March 18 and 19 in the Nature Center at Bendix Woods from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when the SJC Parks plan to announce the Master Plan process for 2024-2028.

A survey online will be available later on in coming months, and the SJC Parks Department anticipates public meetings throughout 2023 as well.

County Parks director, Steve Slauson, reported that, "...the community told us they were interested in a natural playground...that enabled us to prioritize the completion of River Ramble Natural Playscape at St. Patrick's County Park in 2020."
