KNOX, Ind. -- A man and a wife were rescued by Hanna Township Volunteer Fire Department after their car flipped and landed upside down in a water filled ditch.
It happened on the corner of 1500 South and State Road 39 in La Porte county on Sunday around 7 p.m.
As water filled the car, Karen Kornaus called 911.
"We're stuck in a ditch, our car is going underwater and we're stuck in the car," Karen told dispatch.
Gerald Kornaus says he lost control of his car on the icy road.
It took Hanna Township only 11 minutes to respond to the scene.
"It was like clockwork, it really was, it was like we practiced everyday for it," says Fire Chief Tony Wallace.
