Court grants stay, halts same-sex marriages in Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals granted the Indiana Attorney General's stay, bringing same-sex marriages to a halt in Indiana.

The emergency motion for a stay pending the outcome of an appeal was filed on Friday.

On Wednesday, District Judge Richard L. Young ruled Indiana's ban on same-sex marriage was unconstitutional.

Minutes later, same-sex couples began heading to local courthouses to get their marriage licenses.
