Crash in Elkhart on US 20 injures two, one airlifted for his injuries

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A crash off of US 20, near County Road 31 in Elkhart County, injures two, Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office said. One driver was airlifted to hospital, according to deputies.

The crash took place around 2:53 p.m. on Monday.

A 2001 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on US 20, near CR 31. A 2004 Pontiac Montana was traveling in the opposite direction on US 20, near CR 31.

The Silverado allegedly crossed into the eastbound lane, crashing head on to the Montana, deputies said. Both vehicles suffered heavy front-end damage, according to the report.

The driver of the Silverado was transported to the local hospital for his injuries. While the driver of the Montana was transported by Med flight to another hospital for his injuries.
