Crash sends five people to the hospital

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office says officers reported to a crash involving two vehicles on Monday at 4:03 p.m. at the intersection of SR 13 and CR 36 that sent five people to the hospital.

Police say one vehicle was attempting to pass another vehicle, which was preparing to turn east onto CR 36, while both vehicles were travelling south on SR 13 before colliding.

The collision sent the driver and all four passengers of the passing vehicle to Goshen Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash, police say.

Police say the driver of the passing vehicle was cited for improper passing causing bodily injury.
