Crews in South Bend to begin construction along Northside Boulevard

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The East Bank Trail along Northside Boulevard near Howard Park will undergo construction beginning on May 26 as sections of the trail are improved and renovated.

The City of South Bend says that additional trails will be added along Northside Boulevard and missing connections will also be established.

The trail from Howard Park to the Sample Street Bridge will be closed down through mid-September.

The updated trail will include 10-foot multipurpose trail along Northside Boulevard.

Lighting fixtures and two overlooks will also be added to the trail near the Notre Dame boathouse.

Crews will also be removing the lower walkway along Northside Boulevard near the boathouse.

Sections of St. Louis and Northside Boulevards will be closed down until mid-August.

Motorists will be detoured via Jefferson Boulevard and Eddy Street.
