Crews investigating fire at vacant South Bend home

SOUTH BEND, In. -- Crews are investigating an overnight fire at a vacant home in South Bend.

It happened in the 800 block of Ashland Avenue.  911 dispatchers tell ABC57 the call came in just before 1:15 a.m.

Crews at the scene say there were no injuries.  There were flames coming from the home when they arrived, but they got things under control quickly.

We're told this was a vacant home that was being renovated.  Investigators were at the scene, but couldn't go inside right away because it wasn't yet safe to do so.  At this time, it's not clear how the fire started.
