Crime Stoppers Spring Shredding Event happening this Saturday

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Michiana Crime Stoppers is hosting their Spring Shredding Event this Saturday, April 17.

In exchange for a $10 minimum donation to Michiana Crime Stoppers, residents can come to the parking lot of Martin’s Super Market at Erskine Plaza from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. to have their no longer needed documents destroyed.

The documents will be destroyed on site by Integra Certified Document Destruction, who is once again partnering with Michiana Crime Stoppers for the event.

Integra can destroy computer CDs and do not require you to remove staples or rubber bands.

Donations go directly to paying rewards for information leading to the arrest of felony offenders in the Michiana community.

A larger donation is appreciated for participants bringing a large volume of documents.

COVID-19 safety precautions will be in place during the event. Those dropping off documents are asked to wear a face mask and stay in their cars. The event hosts will work with you if you want to watch your documents being shredded.

Participants are also asked to put their documents in the trunk of their car so no close contact is made.

In addition, all volunteers at the event will be wearing masks and gloves.
