Crime Stoppers to hold event for shredding documents
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Michiana Crime Stoppers will be holding a shredding event to help the community combat identity theft.
On Saturday April 27, people are encouraged to bring their unwanted personal or business records to the Martin’s Super Market parking lot at Erksine Plaza for shredding or destruction.
The event will begin at 8:00 a.m. and go until noon.
Computer CDs can also be destroyed during the event.
Crime Stoppers encourages people to carefully discard their documents to minimize the risk of them being stolen or used by criminals.
Integra Certified Document Destruction is partnering with Crime Stoppers for the event and they are asking for a $10 minimum donation for the shredding services.
All the donations and funds raised will go directly toward paying rewards for information leading to the arrest of offenders in the community.
