Crossroads United Way creates program to help working families
ELKHART, Ind. – Crossroads United Way is launching a new, free program to help families overcome their most troublesome roadblocks in Elkhart and La Grange counties.
Thrive United is a program that combines personalized coaching, community resources, and up to $1,000 in direct assistance to support households.
The program pairs families with trained coaches to help them identify their roadblocks, set goals, and create a path to help them move forward. These families can receive help in affording a mortgage down payment, paying off debt, building savings, and more.
“Many families are stuck in a cycle of living paycheck to paycheck,” said Keith Sarber, Executive Vice President of Community Impact at Crossroads United Way. “These households are one emergency away from financial disaster. This program can help these families reach stability so they can pursue their dreams.”
Thrive United was designed to help families that are often not eligible for government programs or other types of assistance due to their income or other requirements.
To qualify for the program, a household must have at least one employed person who lives or works in Noble, LaGrange, or Elkhart County. More information on the program, including how to sign up, can be found here.
