Crown Point judge gives jury duty skipper unusual punishment

CROWN POINT, Ind. -- A Crown Point judge gave a man an unusual sentence because he didn't show up for jury duty.

The 22-year-old had to stand in front of a courthouse carrying a sign that read, "I failed to appear for jury duty."

His punishment is not over.

He's scheduled to carry the sign again next Monday. A secretary for the judge said this is the second time he's done this to someone who skipped out on jury duty.
