Custom guitars, equipment stolen from Hoosier Dads Music

A small business in Granger was burglarized over the weekend.

Instruments, some handmade by the owner of Hoosier Dads Music, were taken.

Owner Dave Vogele says the door was either left open or broken into.

“Somebody or some bodies gained access to the building and just helped themselves to five guitars, some symbols off our lesson drum set,” Vogele said.

The shop offers lessons, instrument repairs and custom guitars.

A few guitars stolen belonged to a teacher.

“It’s a pretty bad monetary loss,” Vogele said.

Vogele says the instrument industry isn’t an easy one.

“With the internet it’s just become a little more tough to do the retail thing for the little guy,” Vogele said.

He says that’s why the theft of four thousand worth of gear is a big hit.

He asking the public to look out for the pieces of equipment online and at local pawn and resale shops.

“Call the police. Call Hoosier Dads Music,” Vogele said.

Hoosier Dads Music is still open for business as usual.
